Sexology glossary

Hi! My name is Mélodie Coulombe, I'm a student at Montmorency College, and I am studying in Social Sciences. I am a very creative person, I like to sew, bake, do sports and most of all talk. I am a very friendly person and l like to meet all kinds of people. I have been in my program for two years. This glossary is meant to help every person who might be interested in sexology, and it's specific terms. My glossary will help any student refer to certain subject with clarity and professionalism needed. This glossary contains images, definitions and right pronunciation for each word. andropause: noun; The term for the physical, sexual, and psychological symptoms in men that occur due to a gradual decline in testosterone levels as they age.; Example: For men, andropause is the equivalent of menopause that occurs in women.; en: andropause
bisexuality: noun; A sexual orientation where someone experiences romantic and/or sexual attraction to more than one gender.; Example: Samuel is experiencing his bisexuality by going out with men and women.; en: bisexualité
circumcision: noun; The surgical removal of the foreskin of the penis.; Example: When he was a baby, Xavier got circumcised due to an infection.; en: circoncision
contraception: noun; The use of methods, devices, drugs, behaviors, or procedures to prevent a pregnancy.; Example: They are using a condom as their contraception method.; en: contraception
femininity: noun; Qualities or attributes regarded as characteristic of women or girls.; Example: She alternated between embracing her femininity and concealing it.
gender: noun; The male sex or the female sex, especially when considered with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones, or one of a range of other identities that do not correspond to established ideas of male and female.; Example: Thomas likes to wear dresses even if his gender is male.; en: genre
hétérophobia: noun; Irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against heterosexual people.; Example: Mathew fears straight people, he has hétérophobia.; en: hétérophobie
heterosexual: noun; sexually or romantically attracted exclusively to people of the other sex.; Example: I consider myself heterosexual.; en: hétérosexuel

masculinity: noun; Qualities or attributes regarded as characteristic of men or boys.; Example: Handsome, muscled, and driven, he's a prime example of masculinity.; en: masculinité
menopause: noun; The natural, permanent end of menstruation, occurring when a woman's ovaries stop producing estrogen and progesterone, marking the conclusion of her reproductive years.; Example: At 45 Melanie started her menopause.; en: ménopause
menstruation: noun; The process in a woman of discharging blood and other materials from the lining of the uterus at intervals of about one lunar month from puberty until menopause, except during pregnancy.; Example: Menstruation usually start at the beginning of the teenage years.; en: menstruation
